Fully Adjustable Needle Valves
SUN’s needle valves are adjustable orifice components that regulate flow. When placed ahead of a control device or actuator, needle valves act as a meter-in device; when placed on the downstream side of a control device, they act to meter-out flow from the actuator. Needle valves are also available with an integral check valve to provide unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1.
Adjustable Needle Valve (No check) – NF*C
SUN’s adjustable needle valves offer excellent metering characteristics for accurate and precise flow control. Performance parameters include:
- A balanced adjusting mechanism for low
- Operating effort at high pressure
- Sharp-edged orifice design to minimize flow
- Variation with viscosity changes.
- Optional needle orifice ranges.
- Positive shut-off of flow when closed.
- Five turns of adjustment.
Adjustable Needle Valve with Check – NC*B
Performance parameters optimized in SUN’s adjustable needle cartridge with built-in check are similar to the NF*C but include a high capacity free flow check.
